2009-Present

  • Designed and developed web services supporting the XCA and XDR interfaces/standards for transmitting documents and meta data between healthcare systems. The project required a good understanding of how SOAP works with WCF so that the unusual interface requirements of XCA and XDR could be satisfied.
  • Designed and developed a scan tool allowing the user to scan documents into the medical system. The scan tool required implementation of basic image manipulation functions such as brightness & contrast, rotating, cropping, resizing, etc. which were all custom-implemented (not supported by third party libraries).
  • Provide full code documentation and at least 75% unit testing for both projects.
  • Both projects were put through peer code reviews which resulted in a very low defect counts.
  • Studied (in detail) the Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) and underlying HL7 V3 standard.
  • Co-authored the Unstructured Documents draft standard specification for CDA.
  • Certified by HL7 as a CDA Specialist.
  • Fluent in XPath-based XML validation, specifically Schematron.
  • Manage the server infrastructure of the organization, including Windows-based servers, Linux-based servers, Exchange, JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, etc.

  • Started as contract developer to work on a startup in-house project for claims processing/administration.
  • Created project using C# .Net WinForms and Sql Server 2000.
  • Wrote 300,000 lines of code between 2 developers within 6 months.
  • Developed scanner and printer interface libraries using Twain drivers and GDI+.
  • Proposed and evaluated the use of several development tools which have helped speed the development of the project drastically.
  • Deployed project in the beginning of 2006 and has now processed over 1,000,000 claims.
